Thanks Anita!
Harvey, Megan, Trent, Jill, Josie, Anita, Til.
The Malanka was our second Ukrainian feast as we were invited by the Dutchaks to a Ukrainian Christmas feast - they celebrate xmas a bit later - I imagine the difference in dates has something to do with being orthodox, another pope and the great scism or something! (please feel free to write and address my ignorance!!)
More importantly, It was Trent's birthday. It was great food. My favourite was Perogies (dumplings filled with potatoes and cheese) and onions finely diced and cooked in butter. YUM! The creamy beef balls were pretty good too. So were the bread dumplings soaked in cream and butter and the cabbage roles soaked in cream and butter and the beet rolls soaked in cream and butter and the crepes stuffed with cottage cheese and soaked in cream and butter. YuuuUUUMMM!! Yes, the Ukrainian food is good!! According to Ralph Feenstra our expanding waistlines will slowly stretch out any and all of our wrinkles...
Thank you Anita!!!
