Sledding
Sledding was a beautiful thing to do it was amazing, live changing, breathtaking and all that hobwash.
All the dogs were beautiful, but not all of them were pure-bred like in the Hollywood movies. Some were pitchy patchy others were indian bred, some were pure and others were other sled dogs. There were so many names it's hard to remember. Our leader was Gwenievere, and Buster. Buster was an old dog that loved to run. Gwen, was a learning lead dog. Our guide said most lead dogs were girls. We had another dog that had broken his leg when he was young, but was still able to run every now and again. The two dogs you can see in the picture are the dogs at the back. They are both female, but I can't remeber their names. They are at the back because they are the strongest in the team. And are the ones most capable of getting the sled going. The two at the front are the most intelligent. There are two middle dogs but I can't remeber their names or their gender. Inside the actual sled it is toasty warm and packed with blankies. It is a completely different perspective from inside the sled and actually driving. In the sled you are more secure and don't really have to hold on. But if your the driver you have to hold on tight and when you stop you really have to stomp your foot down hard to keep the dogs stopped. Even though the dogs are trained, they know you are green at this and love to run. What does that add up to??? When going up a hill, you are advised to jod up or do a skateboarding motion. The two back dogs look behind to see if you are helping out. Dog Sledding was amazing. Definitely want to do it again. (oh and mum isn't actually going anywhere)
