Canadaland.......
There is so much to love about this country........I hardly know where to begin this ramble.....we have only been here four months & already I am running out of superlatives!!!
The season is changing.....its definitely warmer & the possibility of snow decreases by the day......
The geese are everywhere........the critters are emerging......the lawn needs cutting!
In fact, some days are so warm the crazy Canadians have cranked out their shorts & are complaining of the heat!?! For us people of southern climates....it would be a lovely winter/early spring day.....!!!!
One of the lovely things about spending a year here is to see the seasons changing.....snow gone....the amazing resilience of the grass! Oh man.... it come's up quickly when the sun comes out! Rest assured...I am still in blissful ignorance of the ride-on mower!
'Tis the season to crank out the "lawn chairs" (now there is lawn to sit upon!), dust your RV's off, traditionally done May long weekend (18th -21st)........I guess this is why everyone thought we were nuts to attempt it at Easter......bucking tradition!?! Surely that's an Australian past time?! Anyway.....we are joining the RV brigade & heading to Elk Island . Elk Island is a National Park, about 1 & 1/2 hour from here....far enough away to feel like we are on holidays....close enough that if all goes to hell in a handbasket, we can high tail it home! We're going to put Holly the tent trailer through her paces & see how she shapes up. Yes folks...me.....camping! Well, it's a little up scale.....at least I am not sleeping on the ground!?
It's also the time to go "greenhousing"......that is, visiting nurseries to buy plants, seedlings etc. for your garden! Love it!

Moon in the morning............and (snow) geese on the pond.......and in the air......
and oil wells going up...........
.....and forts being constructed......I love that the girls are not (yet) too old for a good fort!!! Josie wanted to spend the night in there!
