Calgary......
With the assistance of google & the GPS, we found "Lammle's Western Wear" on 8th St SW, Downtown Calgary. Our mission......cowboy boots! One of Vins 'must do' things while we were here!!! Yeehah, giddy up! It being the Monday of a long weekend, the city was really quiet & we were a little worried that the shop wouldn't be open. Much to our relief, it was. In fact, we were the only customers & so had the undivided attention of Michelle & "Miss Patty" who looked after us beautifully. |
There was a phenonimal amount of boots to choose from.......plain working boots, snakeskin, gaudily embroided, plainly embroided, pointy toe, round toe, square toe, high heel low heel, cuban heel..........getting the picture. Michelle & Miss Patty were up & down the ladder as we all decided on which boots we liked best. Vin got two pairs!
In comparison to what was on offer, all our boots are fairly plain.....Vins black pair have a little bit of "bling" on the toe! With the credit card sufficiently dented, it was time to hit the highway. It was getting late in the afternoon & we still had a 5 hour drive........ |
Home...........!
Calgary centre looked pretty.....old & new, street sculptures, frozen river through the middle.... & we are looking forward to coming back for the "Stampede" at the beginning of summer. It's the 100th anniversary this year, so I imagine its going to be fairly crowded....!
We drove home on the main highway, north towards Edmonton & the out to Clandonald. Not a scenic as our trip down, but it was time to get home. As we turned from the highway, there was a faint glow in the northern sky......the lights welcoming us back...... What an amazing four days we had......... |
