February Already?! The first day of February......I cant believe we have been here a month?! Time really does go too fast when you're having fun :) Its a stunningly beautiful, crisp, sunny day..the sun sparkling on the snow in the front yard, like a thousand little fairy lights. The girls have been off school yesterday & today, end of semster break. Between "snow days" and early dismissal days (kids go home early so teachers can have a staff meeting!) I don't think they have done a full week yet! Sadly for Vin....he has still had to go to school. As for me.......well someone has to keep the home fires burning & the blog running. That's my story & I am sticking to it !! There haven't been too many words accompanying the photo's.....they speak for themselves.....life is good! We are still pinching ourselves that we got so lucky. The girls have already asked if we can swap with the Jacksons again.....bypass the Teacher Exchange (& regardless of whether the Jacksons want to!!!). Funny & cute & so true!! This past month has been time that none of us will ever forget. All the organisation & trepidation prior......to say it's been worth it is a cliche....but what the hell...I'll say it anyway! The experiences we have had so far.....extreme cold (-50 anyone??!!), skiing, curling , ice skating (even me after an approximate 30 yr break!) , daily living in Narnia, the incredible warmth of the people & not just the ones that have been lined up to be nice to us ( every encounter involves grand discussions of Australia & the whole exchange program....doing the groceries takes hours....apart from trying to find my way around the supermarket!!!), thanks Jodi for including me in your girls movie night...what a blast!, having to "plug the car in" to keep the engine warm, the mind blowing night sky ( the "dipper" is upside down?! & referred to as the little dipper!), everything written in french & english, the craftmanship of the barns...the inside ceiling reminiscient of whale bones, toques for beanies, two dollar coins are toonies, one dollar coins are loonies, Christmas trees made from old tyres. The girls & I are preparing to go & build a snowman in the front yard.........and maybe do some sledding.....:):):) See.....life is GOOD! HUGE hugs & kisses to everyone, north & south, that have looked after us & the Jackson6 so beautifully........xxxxxxx
