Ice fissures caused by (the relatively !) warmer water around the edges of the lake.
Riding the ice ship
Dont shoot the moose!
Lake Laurier, part of the Whitney Lakes National Park was incredibly beautiful..... A huge (frozen at the moment) lake that had houses dotted around the edges. In warmer weather people swim, ski, fish etc.... Mind you......we found some ice fishing holes as well....."no Canadian worth their salt waits for a warmer day!". There wasn't anyone fishing while we were there, but its not unusual apparently, and crazy fisherman even drag cabins out in to the ice, so they can sit in some semblance of comfort while they fish!? Really......it doesn't just happen in the movies!
